Bug Hotel

Fallen leaves, tall grass, and dead wood may seem messy, but they’re essential habitats for many insects—habitats that are increasingly scarce in urban and suburban backyards.

That’s where a bug hotel comes in. Much like a birdhouse, it provides shelter—but instead of housing a single family, it can welcome a variety of insects. Bug hotels offer safe nesting sites for both native and migratory solitary insects, helping support backyard biodiversity.
